BURNISH is run by me, Brenda Cooper. I’m an Emeritus Professor at the University of Cape Town. See my CV  here. I received a life research fellowship at the university in recognition of my research accomplishments. I have experience working with students and  academic colleagues, spanning over thirty five years. My greatest satisfaction is my former students, many of whom are now established academics, critics and writers.

I have published books, journal articles and materials for teachers in schools. I have judged literary prizes, acted as a reader for a range of publishers and reviewed published works. I have run workshops for academics, including early career researchers as well as established scholars. The focus of my workshops is to surface the point and the passion of research endeavours and to inspire colleagues into completing work for publication.
